The foundation's purpose is to promote natural wine production on the Tschäpperli wine estate, which is owned by the foundation. The foundation leases the Tschäpperli vineyard, including the residential house and farm buildings (92/92a/92b/92c/92d/97), as well as vineyards, pastureland, and forest to natural or legal persons who are suitable for agricultural purposes according to the relevant legislation. The rules of Swiss tenancy law apply to the lease. The foundation rents out the house with outbuildings in the Upper Tschäpperli (94/96) at a socially acceptable rent, preferably to suitable families with children. Rental for holiday purposes or as a secondary residence is excluded. The foundation is a non-profit organization and, in cooperation with the competent authorities and institutions of the municipality, canton, and Swiss Confederation, bears co-responsibility for the historic sites located on its territory, namely: the Frohberg ruin (Tschäpperli), the Schalberg ruin, the Engenstein ruin, and the Münchsberg ruin. The foundation supports cooperation for the protection and promotion of biodiversity in the Klus area and adjacent agricultural areas and forests, in cooperation with the Aesch winegrowers' cooperative, its successor organization, and other private and public-law actors, for the benefit of the general public. The foundation can acquire vineyard and agricultural parcels in the municipalities of Aesch and Pfeffingen (Canton of Basel-Landschaft). The foundation operates in the municipalities of Aesch and Pfeffingen (Canton of Basel-Landschaft) in accordance with its purpose. The foundation can conduct any legal transaction that directly or indirectly serves the foundation's purpose.
