The foundation aims to promote and preserve the equestrian sector in Switzerland and practical horse welfare. The fulfillment of the foundation's purpose is achieved on the one hand through the operation of horse sanctuaries and on the other hand through extensive public relations work using annual publications (newspaper in the spring and booklet "Little Horse Stories" in the fall) and with the help of all suitable media. This is intended to bring the existence, essence, and significance of the horse closer to a predominantly urban audience, to keep it vividly in memory, and, by understanding the horse as a symbol of nature, also to call for active nature conservation. The horse sanctuaries are open to the public. Guided tours also provide professional insights into the equestrian sector and promote the correct behavior of humans towards horses, where the intelligent, respectful handling of domesticated animals is to serve as a general example for dealing with nature. Through the horse sanctuaries and the foundation's publications, the Jura is presented to a broad audience as the original horse country of Switzerland in its beauty and unspoiled nature, and tourism in the Jura region is promoted. In the long term, the horse sanctuaries are to be gradually developed into actual hippological centers, from which various impulses are to emanate in the areas of information, education, and research. The foundation's profits and capital are exclusively dedicated to the aforementioned purpose.
