The foundation aims to perform the tasks of the institution referred to in Article 9 of the Convention on the Collection, Delivery and Reception of Waste in Rhine and Inland Navigation (SR 0.747.224.011), in particular, but not exclusively, the organization and operation of a uniform system for financing the acceptance and disposal of oily and greasy ship operating waste in accordance with Part A of the implementing provisions, the establishment of one or more reception facilities in accordance with the Convention, the representation of Switzerland in the IAKS in accordance with the Convention, the collection of the precautionary disposal fee in accordance with the Convention, and the implementation of the international financial settlement in accordance with the Convention, as well as the monitoring and control of the aforementioned activities.
