Collection and archiving of documents and objects related to the company history of Glarus-based companies, particularly textile companies from Glarus; making these documents and objects accessible through a suitable archive computer program; scientific evaluation of these documents and objects; collection of secondary literature on the economic history of the canton of Glarus and establishment of a thematic specialist library; provision of access to the archive and existing infrastructure for public use for research purposes; organization of exhibitions on textile history and economic history topics; promotion of publications on the economic history of the canton of Glarus. In exceptional cases, the foundation may accept documents from companies and families outside the canton of Glarus, especially if there are connections to the canton of Glarus or to textile companies in the canton of Glarus, and this is in the interest of the foundation. The foundation may cooperate with other archives and institutions, particularly the State Archives of the canton of Glarus. The foundation aims to make an important contribution to the research of industrial history and industrial culture in the Glarnerland region.
