The foundation aims to support people with illnesses, particularly those with visual impairments or cancer, as well as research in these areas, also in the Basel and Basel-Landschaft region. Furthermore, the foundation aims to support the Swiss mountain population living or working at an altitude of at least 1000 meters above sea level. The foundation can engage in educational activities to achieve its purpose and collaborate with aid organizations, institutions, and organizations with similar goals. The foundation board can formulate guidelines for the implementation of this foundation purpose within the framework of a regulation. In doing so, it can establish criteria for the selection of beneficiaries, as well as clarify questions regarding procedures, delegation of selection, confirmation of the use of funds, and other matters. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purpose.
