The foundation aims to support children and young people in need or socially and economically disadvantaged in developing and emerging countries, with a focus on Southeast Asia, particularly for their educational and vocational training as well as their health, and to support people in Southeast Asia who live in economically simple conditions to improve their health and living situation. Grants can be made a) to institutions based in Switzerland or locally with the same or similar objectives, which provide proof of non-profit status in the respective country, and b) to eligible individuals on site or for their benefit by paying school or training fees, health or hospital costs. The foundation has a non-profit character. It does not pursue commercial purposes and does not strive for profit. The Little Sun Foundation aims to bring light, encouragement and joy to the bleak economic circumstances of the beneficiaries.
