The foundation serves public-benefit purposes; within this framework, it can provide services directly or indirectly (to public-benefit institutions) at the communal, regional, cantonal, national or international level. The foundation can provide its services in particular in the following areas: grants for public-benefit medical aid in war and peace; grants for public-benefit medical and social aid as well as for hospitals and hospices; grants for new or expansion construction of hospices; grants in the area of animal welfare, environmental protection and human rights protection in Switzerland and abroad; grants to tax-exempt educational institutions for the promotion of culture and general education in Switzerland and abroad; grants to needy private individuals in Switzerland and abroad. The foundation has a public-benefit character, does not pursue any commercial purposes and does not strive for profit. The foundation can merge with other tax-exempt foundations with a similar or identical purpose based in Switzerland.
