The purpose of the foundation is to promote and finance medical research in the field of cancer diseases; to support (advice, access to clinical research, information, etc.) patients with cancer diseases (in particular diagnosis and treatment of tumors); to carry out or support projects and events in the field of cancer diseases (prevention; research, detection (diagnosis), data collection, treatment, therapy, quality assurance, care offers, etc.), to support teaching, research and further education, and to carry out or support public relations in the aforementioned areas (including support for publications) as well as to support needy patients with cancer diseases who would not receive adequate oncological care or treatment without support. The promotion can refer to both individuals and institutions. It can include both one-time contributions and recurring support, e.g. as part of longer-term programs. With the support of the foundation, improved infrastructural (material and personnel) conditions are to be created in the aforementioned areas, processes improved and new solution approaches for existing deficiencies created. The foundation can employ personnel, acquire properties and other assets, and carry out all activities that are suitable for achieving the foundation's purpose. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes and does not strive for profit.
