The purpose of the foundation is to protect the dignity and well-being of domestic animals and other animals in the canton of Bern, as well as to promote species-appropriate husbandry and responsible and gentle handling. The purpose also includes the creation and maintenance of animal shelters, the intake and placement of domestic animals, and public education on species-appropriate handling. The foundation is authorized to acquire, encumber, and sell real estate, as well as to conduct all business and conclude contracts that are suitable to promote the purpose of the foundation. The foundation operates within the scope of its purpose in the canton of Bern. The foundation's profits and capital are exclusively dedicated to the aforementioned purpose. The foundation does not pursue any commercial purpose.
