The non-profit association aims to reduce poverty in developing and emerging countries. Through a public-private partnership, it optimizes Switzerland's contribution to generating income and jobs, as well as reducing the risks of poorer households and micro-enterprises in these countries. To this end, the association primarily promotes broad access to customer-oriented financial services for micro-enterprises and low-income individuals, particularly women and small farmers. It supports financial intermediaries and similar organizations in expanding their corresponding social offerings. The association also provides expertise and promotes private investment to strengthen the scope and efficiency of the public contribution to increasing and improving financial services in the area of the association's purpose. The purpose and activities of the association are non-profit. Neither commercial nor self-help purposes are pursued (ancillary purpose according to the statutes).
