The Swiss Foundation for the Environment aims to promote climate protection as well as environmental and nature conservation worldwide. It is particularly committed to the protection, care, and restoration of natural habitats, the careful and sustainable use of natural resources, and measures to avoid and reduce environmental pollution. The foundation can support or independently carry out projects to promote energy efficiency, renewable energies, and other climate- and environmentally relevant technologies. The purpose of the foundation is particularly realized through its own measures (e.g., by supporting and implementing projects) or by the ideological, material, and financial promotion of other organizations, institutions, or individuals at home and abroad who are active in the aforementioned areas and contribute directly or indirectly to these goals. The foundation can enter into partnerships with these organizations and, within the scope of its purpose, establish further foundations in Switzerland. It is also authorized to found other legal entities at home and abroad and to acquire and hold minority stakes in other legal entities. The foundation pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes and is not designed to be profit-oriented. The foundation aims to achieve this purpose and thus also tax exemption permanently. It does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes.
