The Frame Archive

The association aims to: a) Promote the public and institutional visibility of picture frames and research the history of frames and the framing of artworks. The association fulfills its purpose within the framework of its resources, in particular through: a) Organization of events such as conferences and workshops. b) Support of publications, projects and framing in the museum context. c) Digital collection and documentation of knowledge on its own electronic platform, which should be accessible to the public. d) Establishment and maintenance of a physical archive on the ancient craft practices and traditions of the art of framing. e) Collection of historically exemplary frame artifacts.
