The association, Herz & Pfote - Coaching and Consulting, pursues the non-profit purpose of holistically accompanying children, adolescents, and their caregivers, as well as adults in stressful life phases, promoting their health and quality of life, and sustainably improving their development, education, and participation opportunities. The association's offerings combine mobile animal-assisted therapy, systemic coaching, and psychosocial counseling, aligning with the four dimensions of medicine: biological, psychological, social, and spiritual. The approach is resource-oriented, practical, and tailored to the individual life worlds of the clients. The focus is on children, adolescents, adults, and families facing the following medical stress and illness areas:
- Biological: Chronic illnesses (e.g., asthma, diabetes, skin or digestive disorders), pain, immune deficiencies, oncological or neurological diagnoses, physical exhaustion, and psychosomatic complaints.
- Psychological: Emotional instability, depressive moods, anxieties, sleep and eating disorders, stress reactions after trauma, psychosocial crises, neurodivergent disorders, exhaustion, or behavioral issues.
- Social: Conflicts in family or school environments, bullying, isolation, separation experiences, life uncertainties, poverty, or social disadvantage.
- Spiritual: Questions about meaning, belonging, identity, and trust in difficult life situations, especially during illness, loss, or realignment.
Mobile animal-assisted therapy is a central component: it enables emotional access, strengthens basic trust, reduces fears, and promotes self-regulation through interaction with the animal. The animal is not seen as a tool but as a respectful, therapeutically integrated relationship partner. Additionally, the association offers individual, group, and family settings, parent and school consultations, systemic process support, and mandate work for schools, companies, specialized agencies, and municipalities. The services are based on current scientific findings and practical needs. The goal is to enable clients to help themselves through empathetic, integrative, and professional support, build resilience, foster personal development, and strengthen social participation. The coach and consultant acts as a process companion in all areas and dimensions. The association also advocates for quality assurance, further education, and dissemination of animal-assisted coaching approaches, working interdisciplinary with professionals from medicine, psychology, education, social services, as well as insurance companies and health insurers.
