a) The association aims to promote current and future understanding of societies in transformative processes. The association seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the challenges arising from rapid developments and/or post-conflict societal reintegration. The association also deals with current challenges of the metropolitan area in terms of political power sharing within a concordance democracy and its understanding, planning and connecting function. Furthermore, the association aims to contribute to societal change and connectedness in various ways, addressing the problems of everyday life in the 21st century. b) The association's intention is to bridge and understand (violent) conflict situations or post-conflict situations within societal and urban planning through multi-voiced discourses, such as art, monuments and creative architecture. A multi-voiced and integrative approach is indispensable to answer current questions within this fast-paced, societal-metropolitan change. c) The association also commits to providing a platform for studies, research, support, dialogue and education. With the goal of establishing an interdisciplinary perspective that can grasp the complexity of conflicts and, above all, the transformation of societies from the ground up. d) To pursue its purpose, the association establishes an institute for the study of societies in the (post-conflict) transition phase. The institute is to be a forum for studies on post-conflict and modern societies in the transition phase, based in Zurich but also with locations around the world. e) The association aims to expand its scope of action by building relationships with national and international departments and institutes, thereby promoting and strengthening its own projects. f) The association also aims to promote and implement an international and Swiss dynamic network of academic departments and other institutes that pursue similar goals in transitional research for the education and enlightenment of the population.
