The purpose of the foundation is to provide care for the employees of the employer companies as well as for their relatives and dependents against the economic consequences of old age, death, and disability. The foundation can also make donations to other tax-exempt pension institutions to which one of the employer companies is affiliated. In particular, it can finance contributions from one of the employer companies to its tax-exempt personnel pension institutions. No benefits may be provided from the foundation's funds that one of the employer companies is legally or contractually obligated to provide outside of occupational pension schemes, or that represent bonuses or similar wage payments.
