The cooperative pursues the purpose of providing its members with good and affordable housing through joint self-help and co-responsibility. The cooperative feels committed to the overarching goal that ultimately, housing must be available for all sections of the population, especially for singles, families, people with special needs, and the elderly. It promotes coexistence in the sense of overall social responsibility and mutual solidarity. The cooperative can offer rooms for commercial services in its buildings. The cooperative adapts its focus to the current local challenges. Furthermore, the cooperative pursues the secondary purpose of preserving existing buildings for the local population and new residents as their main place of residence. This contributes to the revitalization of mountain villages with a high proportion of second homes, preventing a further increase in second homes, or reducing the proportion of second homes in the affected municipalities. It seeks to achieve this purpose through: a) Acquisition of building land and building rights; b) Construction and acquisition of single-family and multi-family homes that meet modern housing needs; c) Renovation of acquired single-family and multi-family homes to sustainably meet modern housing needs; d) Construction of replacement new buildings when existing buildings can no longer be renovated in an economically justifiable manner; e) Careful and ongoing maintenance and periodic renovation of existing buildings; f) Utilization of funding instruments according to the federal housing promotion law or corresponding cantonal and communal laws; g) Management and rental of apartments on the basis of cost rent; h) Creation of apartments and single-family homes for sale in condominium ownership or building rights; i) Promotion of cooperative activities; j) Promotion of remote working through suitable infrastructure and organization of information and training events; k) Ideological and material support for efforts aimed at affordable and good housing; l) Ideological and material support for efforts aimed at preserving housing and/or improving the quality of life in mountain regions. The cooperative's activity is non-profit and not aimed at making a profit. The cooperative can participate in companies and organizations with the same or similar objectives. It can be a member of the Swiss Housing Cooperatives Association, the association of non-profit housing providers.
