To provide affordable housing on a communal basis and for mutual self-help, excluding any speculative intent. May acquire and sell land and rights thereto, construct, purchase and sell houses and apartments, manage and rent them. Sales to cooperative members are possible and are decided by the general assembly. Such a sale excludes resale for speculative purposes. To the extent that the living space is not used by the cooperative itself, the cooperative has the right to repurchase it. May claim housing construction and ownership promotion subsidies from the federal government, canton and municipality. May participate in companies with the same or similar objectives and acquire membership in umbrella organizations of non-profit building cooperatives.
