WORLD PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION

The core activity of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) is to represent and promote psychiatry on a global level. This includes: Representing 147 psychiatric societies in 123 countries and collaborating with over 250,000 psychiatrists. Developing ethical guidelines for psychiatric practice and taking positions on issues affecting psychiatric practice and the role of psychiatrists. Organizing congresses and events, such as the annual WPA World Congress of Psychiatry, regional and thematic congresses, to bring together global leaders in mental health and create forums for shared learning and collaboration. Developing educational programs, books, and regular member communications to promote training and learning in psychiatry. Publishing an official journal, World Psychiatry, as a platform for publishing research results and expert opinions in the field of psychiatry.
