The objectives of the WSF are: to be recognized by the International Olympic Committee (the IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (the IPC) as the recognized international governing body for snooker and billiards, either directly or through a umbrella organization, provided that the Board of Directors (as defined below) is satisfied that such an umbrella organization compliant with the IOC exists; to maintain close ties with the IOC, IPC, the Association of IOC Recognized International Sports Federations (ARISF), the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), the International World Games Association (IWGA) and all other Multi-Sports Games Organisations (each an MSG) in order to achieve optimal recognition for Snooker and the WSF, either by working directly with the organizations or through a umbrella organization as described in Article 1.2 (a); to seek to integrate Snooker into the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, World Games and all other MSGs, as well as to support all Members (as defined below) in integrating Snooker into regional or national MSGs; to encourage, develop, promote and advance Snooker (men's, women's and mixed) in all its forms and for all ages in all countries of the world; to establish or adopt and implement policies appropriate to the WSF and more generally to Snooker in accordance with the IOC's standards for international sports federations, including on matters of discrimination, sexual harassment, equal opportunities, anti-doping and health and safety; to host such Snooker competitions organized in conjunction with the WPBSA and World Snooker Limited (a private company limited by guarantee, registered in England under number 04127833) (WSL) (so as not to conflict with events organized by the WPBSA and WSL) and to promote the said competitions to the maximum extent; to harmonize amateur and professional Snooker worldwide in order to encourage clear and transparent career development paths for high-level athletes; and to promote understanding and cooperation between Members and provide support for the development of Snooker.
