The primary objective of World Wheelchair Rugby (WWR) is to inspire and support people around the world to participate in wheelchair rugby. To achieve this objective, WWR must a) promote, advance, govern and administer the sport of wheelchair rugby worldwide, including i. the discipline of Paralympic wheelchair rugby; and ii. any other discipline of wheelchair rugby that may be developed and/or authorized by WWR from time to time; b) establish rules, regulations and statutes for the management, control and conduct of wheelchair rugby competitions; c) train, educate, certify and appoint classifiers, referees and other officials necessary for the management, control and conduct of wheelchair rugby competitions; d) encourage, promote, regulate, control and sanction international wheelchair rugby competitions, championships and events; e) examine and decide all matters related to wheelchair rugby that may arise or be submitted by a Member and act as the final arbiter on all matters related to the conduct of the sport, including disciplinary matters; f) function with and promote mutual trust between WWR and its members at all times in pursuit of these objectives; g) undertake and do all things or activities that are necessary, incidental or conducive to the achievement of these objectives; h) apply WWR's assets and resources to the achievement of these objectives; i) collect fees and taxes, including membership fees, capitation fees, licensing fees and other fees, that are considered necessary for the proper financial management of the sport and the pursuit of WWR's objectives; j) affiliate with the International Paralympic Committee and other organizations as necessary; k) pursue commercial agreements, including sponsorship, marketing and service opportunities, that are appropriate; l) promote wheelchair rugby without favor or discrimination on the grounds of race, sex, religion, politics, economics or disability; and m) encourage and promote fair play, anti-doping and drug-free sport.
