The association aims to contribute to the promotion of languages that have not yet been written, particularly through linguistic research and its application in the fields of literacy and translation. This should lead to the creation of Bible translations and other literature in these languages, which should serve as a foundation for human, educational, social and economic development, as is beneficial to the situation of each language group. The association usually carries out its activities in cooperation with the «Summer Institute of Linguistics, Inc.» or with other partner organizations on site. The association's activities include: Raising awareness among the Swiss public about the concerns and needs of other countries and cultures; Promoting partnerships between communities and associations in Switzerland with partner organizations in these countries; Contributing to the financing of developmentally acceptable projects; Recruiting employees who are able to carry out the tasks of the association and its partner organizations, primarily linguistic research, literacy, translation, vocational training of locals; Caring for the employees working for the association throughout their deployment; Cooperating with organizations with the same or similar goals. The association does not pursue any commercial intentions, but exclusively non-profit purposes. It can acquire real estate in Switzerland and abroad.
