The objectives that AFSI sets itself are: to protect the conservation of domestic felines, to encourage their breeding and study to improve the various breeds and varieties; to take care of the genealogical books, in harmony with Swiss, international and European Union regulations, being able to delegate this function, upon resolution of the General Assembly of Members, to organizations and federations of which AFSI is a part; to regulate and control the breeding of pedigree cats, also providing for the keeping of a list of breeders; to disseminate knowledge of the various breeds and varieties; to protect the safeguarding and well-being of cats as domestic animals regardless of their belonging to recognized breeds; to promote, recognize and organize exhibitions and reviews aimed at promoting knowledge, enhancement and selection of the products of feline breeding and to establish their regulations; to achieve these objectives, AFSI undertakes the task, compatibly with its own means, to take all the initiatives deemed necessary and useful; in particular, it promotes agreements with Associations, Bodies, Companies and information bodies and adheres to national and international organizations with the aim of facilitating the exchange of experiences of breeder members and allowing them to operate on a broader scale.
