Bertold-Suhner-Stiftung

The foundation aims to promote efforts that are in the public interest and serve the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, individual areas or larger or smaller circles of its population. Scientific, intellectual, cultural, social and charitable concerns can be supported, as well as projects for nature, landscape and heritage conservation and measures to preserve traditional cultural assets or improve the national economic structure. Individuals who have fallen into need through no fault of their own or require educational assistance may also be considered. Excluded are grants to solve tasks that are legally incumbent on the canton or municipalities. However, if it is a matter of tasks that the public sector is not obliged but entitled to fulfill, grants are permissible.
