The foundation aims to promote research and education in the fields of viticulture and hospitality; the preservation of viticulture and wine production in the Rhine Valley. To this end, the foundation can directly support wine and viticulture businesses; support the training of young people in viticulture, wine production, gastronomy and hospitality through scholarships; promote alpinism by supporting the construction of mountain refuges, the construction and maintenance of hiking trails and educational paths in eastern and southeastern Switzerland; promote Swiss customs and independence; support social projects and socially disadvantaged people in eastern Switzerland; furthermore, the foundation can make all kinds of voluntary contributions that serve the purpose. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purpose.
