The foundation aims to provide for the legitimate needs of the descendants of the founders bearing the name Couvreu de Deckersberg who may fall into poverty in the future. The income from the fund mentioned in Article 4 of the statutes will serve: to provide means of subsistence to those family members who, due to illness, old age, or unfortunate circumstances, are unable to provide for themselves; excluding from this benefit those who have personally ruined themselves through debauchery, gambling, or general misconduct; to provide young people from the family, whether boys or girls, with the means to acquire a suitable education or to earn a living honorably through an apprenticeship in a trade. In both cases mentioned above and regardless of the available income, each individual will receive only a moderate amount, proportionate to their needs and proportionate to the number of those who are entitled to assistance.
