The foundation pursues the non-profit purpose of promoting research in the ecclesiastical field and the development of charitable activities carried out by ecclesiastical institutions. To this end, it may in particular engage in and/or finance and/or participate in the following types of actions: historical and scientific studies and research in the ecclesiastical field; teaching of Catholic theology; any charitable activity (in particular support for education, care, food and construction and renovation of buildings) supported by an ecclesiastical institution; directly, by allocating resources to universities and colleges, and indirectly, by allocating resources to foundations, institutes and associations pursuing similar purposes, primarily located in Switzerland and benefiting from an exemption for public utility. It may also collect all assets assigned to it and ensure their preservation and profitability, in accordance with the instructions and wishes of the donors. For all economic assets allocated to it, the foundation's mission is to derive the necessary resources to achieve its purpose, maintain their homogeneity, ensure continuous control and ensure that their exploitation is pursued in the spirit and philosophy of their donors.
