The purpose of the foundation is to provide insurance for the employees of the founder and the companies wholly or partially owned by the same (hereinafter referred to as affiliated companies), respectively their survivors, against the economic consequences of old age, disability, unemployment and death, and to cover any situations of economic hardship, in addition to the benefits of compulsory occupational pension provision, and to provide benefits for measures of training and further training, reconciliation of family and professional life, as well as health promotion and prevention. The foundation may also contribute to the financing of other provident institutions for the benefit of the personnel. To this end, the foundation will intervene, with the agreement of the founder: a) to supplement the existing benefits of compulsory occupational pension provision with pensions and/or supplementary benefits; b) with relief allowances, in cases of proven need recognized by the Foundation Board; c) with relief allowances or the financing of other measures within the scope of the purpose; d) with the financing of other provident institutions for the benefit of the personnel; e) with any payments in favor of compulsory occupational pension provision that may also serve for the payment of the annual contributions due to the same by the founder. To achieve the purpose in whole or in part, the Foundation may, with the consent of the Founder, reinsure risks with a Swiss insurance company. The employer's contributions may be deducted from contribution reserves of the provident institution previously funded for this purpose by the employer, provided they have been accounted for separately. The allocation of such reserves to other related provident institutions is permissible.
