The foundation's purpose is to provide care for employees employed under labor law and retirees of the founder, as well as their dependents and survivors, against the economic consequences of old age, disability, and death, and to provide support in cases of need such as illness, accident, disability, or unemployment. The foundation may also provide services to other tax-exempt pension institutions that exist for the benefit of the beneficiaries in order to finance contributions and insurance premiums. However, employer contributions can only be made from the foundation's funds if the employer has previously accumulated contribution reserves and these are separately disclosed (employer contribution reserves). The purpose of the foundation can be achieved through the conclusion of suitable insurance contracts or by entering into such contracts. In any case, the foundation is the policyholder and beneficiary.
