The purpose of the foundation is to continue the welfare fund, which was previously managed separately within the founder company's welfare foundation. Due to the integration of the pension plans of the AMI clinics, acquired by the founder company in 1990, into the founder company's welfare foundation, the patronal welfare fund was spun off into this foundation to safeguard the beneficiaries' rights. The foundation can provide voluntary welfare benefits to employees of the Hirslanden Clinic and staff members who originally worked at the Hirslanden Clinic and were transferred to the Hirslanden Corporate Office due to organizational measures, as well as their dependents, to mitigate the economic consequences of old age, illness, accident, disability, death, and unemployment in cases of need and hardship, provided that other insurance and personnel welfare foundations are insufficient.
