The foundation pursues its charitable purposes by supporting applied, research, and educational activities in the following areas of impact: (i) natural sciences and technology, particularly by promoting innovation, ecology and sustainability, and biodiversity in flora and fauna; (ii) vocational education and integration into the labor market, particularly regarding basic training and integration of young people and individuals with disabilities, promoting technical vocational education and STEM programs, and supporting dual vocational education. The mention of sub-areas of impact is not exhaustive and is exemplary in nature. The foundation, as a grant-making foundation, is primarily active in the canton of Zurich, but also in Switzerland and exceptionally abroad, provided there is a positive connection to the canton of Zurich or to Switzerland. As a grant-making foundation, the foundation benefits institutions based in Switzerland that are themselves tax-exempt due to their charitable or public purpose. The foundation's own charitable projects for beneficiaries in Switzerland are not excluded. The board of the foundation is free to allocate funds among the sub-purposes of the foundation. There is no obligation to pursue all sub-purposes or to support them equally. It can specify the purpose and weighting in a regulation. The foundation does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes and is exclusively active for charitable purposes. It is politically and denominationally neutral.
