INTERSOS pursues, on a non-profit basis, civic, solidarity and social utility objectives by carrying out and exercising, exclusively or primarily, one or more activities of general interest, in accordance with Article 5 of the Third Sector Code, in the form of volunteering or free provision of money, goods or services, or mutual aid or production or exchange of goods or services. The Association was created to provide solidarity responses to populations in danger of death and in situations of collective hunger and suffering resulting from extreme poverty, natural disasters or the destructive effects of human action. Through its interventions, it also aims, as far as possible, to lay the foundations for launching development processes. At the same time, INTERSOS aims to mobilize society around the values of solidarity and fraternity among peoples, without discrimination or prejudice of any kind, based on the values, fundamental rights and dignity of every human being.
