In pursuit of the Emmaus motto 'Help the poorest first', the organization aims to help leprosy patients and combat the disease in all areas where it occurs, in the medical, scientific, social and humanitarian fields; to this end, it can set up its own projects, support existing ones, and employ medical or paramedical staff and volunteers; it can also collaborate with any other national or international institution pursuing the same goals; in the same way, it can also devote itself to combating tuberculosis and other diseases recognized as being in urgent need of treatment.
