The purpose of the foundation is to support and promote charitable and cultural works with a focus on, but not exclusively in, the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, and in justified cases also in the cantons of Appenzell Innerrhoden and St. Gallen, as well as in the rest of Switzerland and abroad. The foundation also supports organizations and events whose activities and success serve the public interest. Furthermore, the foundation contributes to the preservation of a healthy economic structure in Eastern Switzerland, with a focus on the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden. To secure modern jobs, the foundation shall promote Steinegg Aktiengesellschaft, Herisau, and its important subsidiaries. The foundation council decides on the type and scope of the foundation's contributions within the framework of the foundation deed and the foundation regulations. It will issue special guidelines for this purpose. To achieve the foundation's purpose, the foundation can provide one-time or recurring contributions of any kind. The foundation's contributions are determined by the foundation council at its discretion, and there are no enforceable legal claims to their allocation.
