The foundation aims to promote scientific research, particularly in the fields of visceral surgery, cancer research, and cell matrix research. To this end, the foundation establishes and operates a research and training center on a non-commercial basis, awards scholarships for research projects, invites experienced specialists (visiting professors), and enables the stay and training of surgeons and physicians at the research and training center. Furthermore, the foundation supports nursing research, organizes symposia and congresses, as well as lecture tours, and conducts clinical and laboratory studies. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes and does not strive for profit.
