The foundation aims to provide support contributions for the promotion and assurance of quality of artistically designed relief works on the riverbanks of the Lyssbach in Lyss between Kirchenfeldstrasse and Fabrikstrasse (Steingalerie reLYef). The quality is to be promoted in particular through the following measures: creation of regulatory and organizational arrangements for the tendering and selection of qualified works; the selection is to take place under the criteria of the gallery's core themes; design measures on and in the river area for the attractive presentation of the works; public relations for the broad announcement of completed works; promotional and connecting events for sponsors, artists and their organizations. The quality is to be ensured in particular through the following measures: maintenance of current and future reliefs and restoration of potentially damaged works; creation and maintenance of visitor viewing areas opposite the individual reliefs on the riverbanks. The financing of new works is explicitly not included in the foundation's purpose. The foundation has no commercial purpose and does not strive for profit. The foundation's capital and any profits are exclusively dedicated to the aforementioned purpose.
