The foundation aims to support employees and retirees, in particular members of the UNIA trade union, in the following areas:
a) Legal aid: Enforcement of claims and demands against third parties to prevent economic and social disadvantages, particularly in connection with old age, disability, death, accident, illness, unemployment, employment relationship as well as consumer and family protection, all for the benefit of employed persons, retirees and the unemployed. The foundation offers legal aid within this framework generally free of charge. The foundation council can stipulate in a regulation in which cases contributions covering costs at a maximum can be charged to the beneficiaries.
b) Further education: Further education in social, economic, professional and cultural matters.
c) Assistance in hardship and emergency cases: Assistance in cases of unemployment, illness, accidents or other social emergencies according to criteria to be stipulated in a regulation by the foundation council.
d) Promotion of social housing: Promotion of the construction of housing with moderate rents.
e) Holiday discounts: Discounts on holidays, in particular through the issuance of holiday vouchers or Reka-Checks to promote the spending of holidays and leisure time, in particular for families and for the creation of recreational opportunities on social terms.
f) Combating unemployment and supporting other institutions: Suitable measures to combat unemployment and support other tax-exempt social institutions, in particular in the environment of the UNIA trade union.
The foundation council can further elaborate on the aforementioned foundation purposes and the relationship between these purposes in one or more regulations. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes, does not aim for profit and does not provide services that are directly related to trade union representation of interests.
