The Society is an organization for non-profit housing construction in accordance with Article 37 of the Federal Housing Promotion Ordinance WFV and the Charter of Non-Profit Housing Providers. Its purpose is to provide and maintain good and affordable housing in the Lötschental, particularly for the population of the municipality of Blatten, through joint self-help and co-responsibility. It aims to offer spaces for all population groups. It promotes coexistence in the sense of overall societal responsibility and mutual solidarity. It seeks to achieve this purpose through: a) Acquisition of building land and building rights; b) Construction and acquisition of single-family and multi-family homes that meet contemporary non-profit housing needs; c) Careful and ongoing maintenance and periodic renewal of existing buildings; d) Construction of replacement buildings when existing buildings can no longer be renewed in an economically viable manner; e) Utilization of promotion instruments under the Federal Housing Promotion Act or corresponding cantonal and municipal laws; f) Management and rental of apartments on the basis of cost rent; g) Creation of apartments and single-family homes for sale in condominium ownership or building rights; h) Promotion of communal activities in the settlements; i) Ideological and material support for efforts aimed at affordable and good housing. The Society involves the existing or future residents in the planning and realization of its projects and promotes self-management. The basis of the Society's activities is sustainability in economic, social, spatial planning, and ecological terms. Sustainable development is defined as one that can meet today's needs without diminishing the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The principle of sustainability should also be followed in construction projects and in dealing with the building substance. The activity of the Society is non-profit and not profit-oriented. The Society may participate in companies and organizations with the same or similar objectives, establish branches, acquire similar or related businesses, or merge with them, and enter into all transactions and conclude contracts that are suitable for promoting the purpose of the Society or are directly or indirectly related thereto. It may be a member of an association of non-profit housing providers.
