The foundation pursues its purpose in two areas of activity: The first area of activity includes the promotion, support and recognition of creative, caring and performing activities in the fields of music (e.g. Lucerne Festival); visual arts; and literature. The funds are to be used mainly for projects in Switzerland. Exceptional support for foreign projects is permitted if Swiss nationals are involved or if there is another clear connection to Switzerland. The second area of activity includes the promotion and support of projects in the fields of improving the offer of old-age and nursing home places in the canton of Lucerne; care for disabled children in Switzerland; quality tourism in Switzerland; scientific research and teaching (including scholarship awards) in Switzerland in the field of natural sciences and technology, in particular also the promotion of innovative technologies. Humanities and social sciences as well as medicine, psychology, psychiatry and related auxiliary sciences are excluded from promotion and support.
