The purpose of the foundation is the non-commercial and charitable promotion of science and research, education, culture and public information about chocolate. The foundation is mainly active in the economic region of Zurich. To this end, the foundation promotes, among other things, the following projects: a) Informing the public about the history as well as ecological, social and nutritional and health-relevant aspects of chocolate and its consumption. For this purpose, the foundation can, in particular, operate, finance, establish or co-finance a chocolate museum, separately or together with the educational institution under c) below; b) Financing or co-financing activities and scholarships in the field of vocational training and further education within the chocolate industry (apprenticeships, higher vocational examinations, training in food technology at universities of applied sciences and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, etc.); c) Establishing its own educational institution for food sciences, which is intended to serve young scientists (food technologists, etc.) as a place of training and further education as well as a testing facility; d) Financing or co-financing research projects in the field of cocoa/chocolate, such as combating cocoa diseases and ensuring sustainable cocoa production.
