The foundation aims to promote non-profit organizations, works and projects in the social, charitable, humanitarian, cultural, scientific, medical, ecological, educational or other non-profit areas, with a focus on Central Switzerland. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes. The foundation achieves its purpose by enabling earmarked funds that comply with the foundation's requirements, while ensuring the necessary flexibility in setting priorities, specialized expertise in management, and diversity in funding management over time. As an independent umbrella foundation, the foundation offers interested parties the opportunity to implement their specific funding requests in a cost-effective manner (earmarked funds). The establishment of such earmarked funds requires that the funding request is covered by the foundation's purpose, the foundation board agrees, and a corresponding fund regulation is issued, which must be submitted to the foundation supervision for review and registration, and the public and/or non-profit purpose is recognized for tax purposes. The earmarked funds are intended to have independent governance, which can be achieved, depending on the circumstances, by the foundation board alone in the relevant fund regulation or by a binding agreement between the founder/donor of an earmarked fund and the foundation, or by regulations set by the founder/donor and accepted by the foundation board. The founder reserves the right, based on Art. 86a of the Swiss Civil Code and in compliance with the legal requirements, to expand the purpose of the foundation, subject to the approval of the tax authorities with regard to tax exemption.
