The foundation aims to: a) Cover the costs of education, equipment and support and similar purposes for the benefit of the widow of the founder Juan Carlos Gerstenhauer. b) Cover the costs of education, equipment and support and similar purposes for the benefit of members of the Gerstenhauer family (hereinafter referred to as "family beneficiaries"). Family beneficiaries within the meaning of the above paragraph b include those who are related to Mr. Jean-Robert Gerstenhauer (father of the founder) in the first to fourth degree of consanguinity and their children. c) If there are no beneficiaries as per paragraphs a and b, scholarships shall be awarded to Spanish, Italian, Liechtenstein or Swiss students whose families cannot afford the costs for a study at a state-recognized university in Switzerland. Beneficiaries under paragraphs a), b) and c) have no legal claims to foundation benefits, unless such benefits have been decided by the foundation board at its discretion.
