The foundation aims to provide occupational pension benefits within the framework of the BVG and its implementing provisions for the employees of the founder and other companies that have joined the foundation, as well as for their relatives and beneficiaries, against the economic consequences of the loss of earned income due to old age, death, and disability. A company may join the foundation on the basis of a written accession agreement, which must be notified to the supervisory authority. The foundation may provide additional benefits beyond the statutory minimum benefits. The circle of affiliated companies is generally a closed circle, with the following exception: if a previously affiliated company acquires another company and is economically and/or financially closely related to it, the newly acquired company may also join the foundation. The foundation board shall issue regulations on benefits, organization, administration, asset management, and financing, as well as on the control of the foundation. It shall define the relationship with employers, insured persons, and beneficiaries in the regulations. The regulations may be amended by the foundation board, provided that the acquired rights of the beneficiaries are preserved. The regulations and their amendments must be submitted to the supervisory authority. To achieve its purpose, the foundation may conclude insurance contracts or enter into existing contracts, provided that it is the policyholder and beneficiary.
