The foundation's purpose is to provide benefits (old-age, death and disability) and benefits in cases of need, such as illness, accident and unemployment, to the employees of the founding company and their dependents and beneficiaries. The foundation may also provide benefits to other tax-exempt pension institutions that exist for the benefit of the beneficiaries in order to finance contributions and insurance premiums. Furthermore, the foundation may make one-time or periodic supplementary benefits to the regulatory benefits of an insurance institution or supplementary benefits in cases where the regulatory benefits of a pension institution are insufficient, provided that the principles of adequacy of provision and equal treatment of the beneficiaries are respected. All persons who have an employment contract with the founding company or who have been replaced by a pensioner status are considered employees. Persons at the company's location in Western Switzerland are only considered beneficiaries as of January 1, 2016, provided that the pensioner status has been acquired after January 1, 2016. Employer contributions to pension institutions affiliated with the founding company can be made from the foundation's funds if contribution reserves have been previously accumulated and separately disclosed (Art. 331 OR).
