To provide financial support, advice or care to individuals residing in the canton of Lucerne who have fallen ill, had an accident or are in temporary or permanent need due to their service in national defense or civil protection; support may also be extended to their families; in the event of death, assistance may also be granted to the surviving next of kin; members of the armed forces or civil protection who have fallen into financial difficulties due to their service may be temporarily supported in cases of hardship; support tasks that are legally required of the federal government, cantons or municipalities are not assumed; special support may be granted in the service and for the benefit of the armed forces or civil protection; these are intended for the following group of recipients: a) Associations, clubs, foundations, etc. that take on tasks in the context of defense and civil protection. b) Individuals or organizations for special actions that are in the sense of defense and civil protection.
