The foundation aims to collect scientific data on radio and television usage in Switzerland. It is committed to scientific integrity, works according to international scientific standards, and is independent of SRG, other broadcasters, and the advertising industry. The foundation ensures that Swiss programme providers and scientific research have sufficient data on radio and television usage, taking into account the concerns of the advertising industry. The data to be made available in accordance with Article 74 RTVV are defined in an implementing regulation. Licensed broadcasters in mountain and border regions must have access to data of comparable quality to other broadcasters. The foundation can take on additional tasks related to the collection and exploitation of data collected for usage research. It can collect scientific data on other media on all distribution channels in Switzerland. The foundation can establish, acquire or participate in companies.
