The foundation aims to insure the employees of Bank Julius Bär & Co. AG (hereinafter referred to as the employer) against the economic consequences of old age, disability, and death. The foundation exclusively provides supplementary pension benefits beyond the statutory minimum benefits and only insures salary components that exceed the threshold for securing regulatory benefits through the security fund. To achieve its purpose, the foundation may conclude insurance contracts or enter into existing contracts, in which case it must be the policyholder and beneficiary. With the approval of the foundation board, employees of companies belonging to the Julius Bär Group or economically or financially closely related to it may be affiliated with the foundation. The affiliation of a company is based on a written affiliation agreement, which must be notified to the supervisory authority. The foundation maintains separate accounting circles for companies affiliated with it before November 18, 2020, which are not economically or financially related to the Julius Bär Group, and determines the pension capital and pension assets attributable to them separately. The foundation board may establish separate funds within the foundation. These must be disclosed separately in the annual accounts.
